Jobs are break down into elements eg. A B C of job 1
Normal Time the expected of someone who is rated at 100% (average rating from 80%(least) to 130%(verygood)
Performance rating is applied for every element at the time , the time study is done.
Observed time (from time study) -> normal time (By applying performance rating) -> Standard time (by including allowances)
Personal time allowance 4%(male) 7%(female)
element time muz do one by one. each element might have a different rating.
eg.
standard time = Delay allowance -1% + personal needs allowance -5% = Fatigue allowance 15% = Total(21%)
Practice problem qn 1
Job Element 1 -> element 2-> element 3-> element 4 (done 10 cycle)
Take average time for each row.
Element 1 : (0.36 +0.31+0.42+0.35+0.38+0.3+0.41+0.42+0.35+0.35) /10 = 0.32
Element 2: (0.81+0.95+0.76+0.85+1.01+1.02+0.95+0.9+0.87+0.88)/10 =0.90
Element 3: (0.56+0.38+0.42+ 0.45+0.51+0.48+0.5+0.52+0.39+0.46)/10 =0.47
Element 4: (0.19 +0.12+0.16+0.21+0.15+0.16+0.18+0.19+0.19+0.15)/10 =0.17
Normal time for element 1 = 0.32*1.05 oR 105/100 (100 is the average time) =0.34
Normal Time for Element 2 = 0.9*0.9 =0.81
Normal Time For Element 3 =0.47 *1 =0.47
Normal Time For Element 4 = 0.17* 1.05 =0.18
Total Normal Time for the job = 0.34+0.81+0.47+0.18 = 1.8 min(for average person to finish the job)
Standard time for the job = Total Normal TIme /(1-allowance factor)
